Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the ZIP code retrieving method by simple address input which can determine a ZIP code devotedly with a small number of input characters by classifying an address string into several layers of a prefectural name, a city name, a town name, etc., and generating a character string for new ZIP code retrieval using part or the whole of the address for each layer. CONSTITUTION:The address string is divided as an abbreviated address string into the 1st layer consisting of the administrative division name, the 2nd layer consisting of the city, district, or ward name, the 3rd layer consisting of the section name or district town or village name, the 4th layer consisting of a village section name or an in-city town name, the 5th layer consisting of an alias such as a village section name and a division name, the 6th layer consisting of a division name or street name, and the 7th layer consisting of a road name. Then >=2 of the 1st-7th layers are previously selected and part or the whole of the character strings in the selected layers is used to retrieve the ZIP code by using the character strings as key words respectively, thereby obtaining the common ZIP code among the respective retrieval results as a final result.
