Abstract:
PURPOSE:To transport economically extremely cold materials through a triple system transportation pipe by cooling shield pipes with cooling refrigerant havig at least 77 deg.K temperature. CONSTITUTION:The transportation cost of extremely cold materials increases as running power increases. Thus, to reduce the transportation cost of the extremely cold material, the increase of total running power should be restrained. The total running power is determined by refrigerant temperature. In decreases as the refrigerant temperature becomes higher than LN2 temprature and is minimized at about 125 deg.K of refrigerant temperature. The total running power can be restrained equivalent to or lower than that using LN2 for the refrigerant by cooling shield pipes with at least 77 deg.K temperature rerigerant. Thus, the extremely cold materials can be economically transported, compared with the case using LN2 for the refrigerant.
