PURPOSE: To eliminate the deviation in the position of an original by providing a pair of sliding guides extended parallelly to the pivotally attaching axis direction of an original pressing plate on original placing glass capable of holding the original inbetween.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of sliding guides 3a and 3b is provided parallelly to the pivotally attaching axis of the original pressing plate 6 nutatablly along with the upper surface of contact glass 2. Then, left and right driving wires 15 hang between pulleys 12 attached to the both ends of the axis the same as the axis of a turn knob 4 and driven pulleys 13 in the positions symmetrical to the respective pulleys are synchronously moved by turning the turn knob 4 and the sliding guides 3a and 3b whose respective ends are supported by left and right traveling objects 16 and 17 attached at the symmetrical positions of the respective upper traveling part and lower traveling part are synchronously moved while holding a symmetrical state relating to a center line as an original placing reference. In this case, when the original is pressed by lowering the original pressing plate 6, it is eliminated that the original is moved by wind pressure generated by lowering the pressing plate even when original paper is thin.
