PURPOSE: To provide a one pack type emulsion composition containing a specific silicone resin as a main component, a volatile organopolysiloxane, and further water as a dispersing medium, and useful for shielding the scratches of glass and for protecting the surfaces of rubbers, leathers, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The emulsion composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a silicone resin comprising 50-99mol.% of repeating units of formula: R1SiO1.5 [R1 is (substituted)monovalent hydrocarbon] and 1-50mol.% of units of formula; R23SiO0.5 (R2 is R1), (B) 30-3000 pts.wt. of a volatile organopolysiloxane (preferably a cyclic polydimethylsiloxane having a degree of polymerization of 4 or 5), (C) 0.1-60 pts.wt. of a surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl ether), and (D) 199-30000 pts.wt. of water. The component A is obtained e.g. by reacting trimethylchlorosilane and hexamethyldisilazane with methylpolysilsesquioxane produced by hydrolyzing methyltriisopropoxysilane.
