Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make relatively and easily evaluatable the quality of curved surface data stored in the CPU of a CAD system. SOLUTION: The light source data of a horizontal face 2, on which first band-shaped parts 3 in white and second band-shaped parts 4 in the color of a vehicle are plotted in parallel, are stored in the CPU of a CAD system for curved surface data stored in the CPU related with the surface of a vehicle model 1. Lightness on the horizontal plane 2 reflected symmetrically to a facial normal at each point of the surface of the vehicle model 1 and directed toward a view point 6 is calculated by the CPU for the whole surface of the vehicle module 1 based on the curved surface data and the light source data. Thus result is displayed on a display as stripe patterns, and the propriety of the curved surface data is judged according to the bending situation of the stripe patterns and the changing situation of each width.
