Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease dust and mud adhesion to tire without detriment to ozone resistance by producing the side tread of the tire from a vulcanizable rubber composition of a volume resistivity below a specified value containing conductive carbon black. CONSTITUTION:A conductive carbon black having a nitrogen adsorption surface area of 100-150m<2>/g, a dibutyl phthalate absorption of 90-130ml/g, a pH of 7-8 and a volatile content of 1-3% is added to a rubber composition to produce a vulcanizable rubber composition having a volume resistivity <=10<4>OMEGA.cm. The purpose radial-ply tire for passenger car is produced by producing at least the surface of its side tread from the above rubber composition. The obtained tire is decreased in adhesion of dust, mud, etc., not only to the side tread but also to the entire surface of the tire and can keep its initial appearance for a long time.
