Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a tyre and to improve durability by a method wherein 3-5 metallic filaments with a specified size serving as a carcass ply are twisted together to form single twist structure. CONSTITUTION:3-5 metallic filaments with a filament size of 0.13-0.32mm serving as carcass ply ate twisted together to form single twist structure. A metallic cord in which an arithmetic average value of elongation p1 at a load of 0.25-5kgf/piece is set to up to 0.25% is used. Arrangement is made so that a distance between cords at the end of the carcass ply is set to at least 0.25mm. This constitution improves corrosion and fatigue resistance, fretting resistance, and side external damage resistance, and reduces the weight of a tyre.
