Abstract:
The aim of the invention is to improve the efficiency of a side channel machine which, at the same time, is easier to produce and assemble. A side channel machine with at least one running wheel (4) that is rotationally mounted in the housing (1, 2) thereof is provided. The running wheel (4) is provided with a supporting ring (5). Conveying blades are mounted on the supporting ring (5) which rises above a hub component at least on a side axial in relation to the running wheel axle, whereby the hub component carries the supporting ring (5) and links the supporting ring (5) to a primary shaft. There is a gap (3) between the running wheel (4) and the housing (1, 2). At least one contour (7) that forms edges is provided at least in the area of the supporting ring (5). Said contour (7) serves for sealing the gap (3) and is incorporated into the housing and/or the supporting ring (5).
