Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reinforce a spot of generating a heat crack by forming a recessed part in a wall surface, opposed to a combustion chamber, and filling the recessed part with a sintered material of aluminum dust grain, whose surface is coated with a metal for improving heat resistance, to form a heat resisting reinforced layer. CONSTITUTION:Suction and exhaust ports 2, 3 are formed and also a communication port 4, by which a combustion chamber communicates with a subcombustion chamber 6, is provided, in an aluminum alloy-made cylinder head 1. Here is provided a reinforced layer 5 mutually between the suction and exhaust ports 2, 3 and the communication port 4 which are spots where a heat crack is generated. This reinforced layer 5 is formed by first coating aluminum dust grain surfaces with nickel. A plasma discharge is generated between aluminum dust grains to remove an oxidized film or the like from a nickel surface by applying pulse voltage by a pulse power supply 8 in a press condition, and the dust grain is sintered by generating mutual contact with the fellow activated nickels.
