PURPOSE:To provide a reinforcing member for a composite material with a taper having a desired shape, by fording back wefts on warps in turn positioned in the inside direction from the edge of the warp group contained in a surface extending from a three-forked portion in a woven fabric having the three-forked portion to form an oblique portion. CONSTITUTION:In the production of woven reinforced member having a vertical surface forming a taper together with a horizontal surface at a three-forked portion, wefts 8 are woven in over the whole portions of a group of warps 7 in the wide portion 9 of the vertical surface and folded back on the wraps in turn positioned in the inside direction from the edge of the group of the warps 7 in the vertical portion 5. The fording-back positions are gradually transferred in the inside direction to reduce the waving widths by degrees. Since the horizontal portions 4 and 4' are formed in a constant width, the above-mentioned reduction of the weaving width results in the reduction of the width of the vertical portion 5 to form an oblique portion 11. In the oblique portion 11 and narrow portion 10, the wefts are forded back at the positions of the warps 7 corresponding to the weaving width, while the density of the warps 7 therebetween does not change.
