Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively straighten even a large H-shaped steel and improve the quality of the product by arranging in two upper and lower tiers and in zigzag a plural number of roller groups consisting of two or more rotary rollers whose rotary shafts are almost on the same plane and in parallel with one another.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of roller group 1 is arranged which consists of plural rollers 1a placed opposite to each other and in zigzag, and a load is alternately imparted to the end face 3a of the flange 3 of an H-shaped steel 2. Since the contact area of the roller groups pressurizing both ends of the flange of the H-shaped steel 2 is large compared with the case of a conventional straightening method, a bearing per unit area becomes small. Consequently, there is no decrease in the width nor the deformation of the flange 3 due to the local deformation of the flange 3 of the H-shaped steel. Furthermore, in the case that the plural rollers 1a of the roller group 1 for pressurizing the flange 3 of the H-shaped steel 2 are arranged to be on a curved surface having a specific curvature along the advancing direction, it is effective in distributing the load.
