Abstract:
PURPOSE:To widen the width of a road by building an overhang of strong construction by a simple construction method. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of anchors 3 are put into the ground on the sloping surface on the side of valley of a road 1 at proper intervals so that the protruding portions of the anchors 3 above the ground form an arch shape. Cement hardening material 4 is placed along the sloping surface to form an overhanging portion 2 on the valley side of the road 1, wherein the portions of the anchors 3 projecting from the ground are disposed. The lower part of the portion 2 is formed into an arch along the anchors 3. A plurality of anchors 3 may be provided near the surface of the road 1 along the direction of the road. As the anchors 3, lock bolts or ground anchors wherein twisted wires are used as tension member can be employed. Therefore, construction can be easily executed by placing the anchors 3 and cement hardening material. Load is distributed to a plurality of anchors 3, so that load is not concentrated at one point on the sloping surface. Since the overhanging portion is formed into an arch shape, it has a strong and lightweight construction and hence the portion does not slip down by it own weight.
