Abstract:
The roller grating has blast tubes (13) parallel to the rollers in the gaps between them. The blast tubes are connected to a separate auxiliary air system. They have blast apertures (15) in them. The blast tubes are used to blow auxiliary air into the gaps. The total of the aperture areas per metre of blast tube length is between 0.5 and 10 sq. cm., pref. not more than 5 sq. cm. There may be holders (10) to fix the blast tubes to intermediate pieces (9).
