PURPOSE: To provie a method for the self-supporting plantation of a tree of simple constitution and dispensing with alignment work of an anchor and a supporting base in the embedding of the anchor at the planting site and to provide an apparatus for the plantation of a tree.

CONSTITUTION: Plural trapezoidal frames 2 are connected with each other in the form of a ring and the formed supporting base is placed in a root hole. Vertical piles 6 having fixed stoppers 5 at the top are vertically inserted through guide frames 4 fixed to the necessary parts of the outer circumferential side wall of the supporting base, the piles 6 are thrust into the soil in the root hole until the stopper 5 is brought into contact with the outer frame 2a of the supporting base, the guide frame 4 is fixed to the vertical pile 6 with a bolt and the root ball of a tree is placed on the supporting base and bound to plural engaging fittings 8 of the supporting base with a wire.
