PURPOSE: To provide a picking mechanism capable of smoothly picking up cards which are stored in a hopper of a magnetic card inspecting device and adhered closely to each other without causing any mistaken picking and damages.

CONSTITUTION: A rotatable supporting roller 71 to support the respective cards 1 stored in a hopper 2, a sucking part 72 to suck a card 1-1 in the front position of a drawer 22 side and a moving mechanism 73 to move this card are provided on the drawer 22 side of the hopper 2. A blade wheel where the respective elastic blades 741 are rotated and brought into slidable contact with the side surface of the respective cards 1 stored in the hopper 2 and the respective cards 1 which are closely adhered to each other are separated from each other by keeping fine clearance to each other, and an air infecting part 75 to blow the air A into the fine clearance of the respective separated cards 1 and to maintain the separated condition are provided. This constitution prevents the card-picking mistake and the interruption of the inspection from being generated, and as the cards are not damaged, the reliability and the availability of a magnetic card inspecting device is improved thereby.
