Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a polypropylene composition having improved printability with water-based ink, and excellent transparency and antistaticity, by compounding an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer with an ethylene-butene copolymer.

CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 98.5W60(wt)% crystalline polypropylene (having an isotactic index of preferably ≥90), (B) 0.05W10% copolymer consisting of 80W95% ethylene and residual part of the compound of formula[R is H or CH3; X is OH, OCH3, OC2H5, OC2H4N(CH3)2, NH2, etc.]and (C) 1W30% ethylene-butene copolymer having a butene content of 5W20%. The film prepared from the composition can be printed with a water-based ink in place of the ink containing organic solvents. Accordingly, it can be used as a packaging material in the field of foods without causing hygienic problems.
