PURPOSE: To prepare the viscosity and concentration of slurry of coal and water corresponding to the desired value, by obtaining the water amount of a liquid film corresponding to the desired value from the relationship between the viscosity of the slurry of coal and water and the water amount of a liquid film previously derived experimentally, adjusting the coal particle size in such a way that a water amount of a liquid film is made into the above-mentioned water amount of a liquid film.
CONSTITUTION: The water amount of a liquid film V0 corresponding to the desired viscosity η0 is obtained from the relationship between the viscosity η of slurry of coal and water and the water amount of a liquid film V calculated by the shown formula[VT is the amount of water added (cm3); VC is the volume of coal particle (cm3); ρC is the high density of the coal particle (g/cm3); ν is the water volume absorbed by coal per weight in water (cm3/g); is the volume ratio of the space part between coal particles in the air]previously derived by a liquid film model. The coal particle size is adjusted in such a way that a water amount of a liquid film is made into V0 depending upon the desired concentration.
