PURPOSE: To obtain a vulcanizable rubber composition composed of a vinylidene fluoride resin (I), a nitrile rubber (II) and a vinyl chloride resin (III) and/or a polymethyl methacrylate resin (IV) and having excellent gasoline-permeation resistance, weather resistance, freeze resistance, compression set and processability.
CONSTITUTION: The rubber composition contains (I) 10-70wt.% of a vinylidene fluoride resin, (II 90-30wt.% of a nitrile rubber (the sum of I and II is 100 pts.wt.) and 5-50 pts.wt. of (III) a vinyl chloride resin and/or (IV) a polymethyl methacrylate resin. The rubber composition is produced by cross-linking the component (I) while applying a shearing force in the blending of the components (I) and (II). The rubber composition contains the vinylidene fluoride resin (I) dispersed in the form of particles having diameter of ≤5μm.
