PURPOSE: To permit the use of an ink ribbon over its all widthwise direction by moving the ink ribbon by an unit printing width when line is carried.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal head 2 is fixed to the upside of a timing belt 3 in such a way as to enable a paper 7 to be moved toward the widthwise direction, and the timing belt 3 is driven by a motor 4. When a lever 5 is fallen down in the direction of arrow A, the shaft 51 and the thermal head 2 are fallen down in the direction of arrow A and come into contact the paper 7 because the thermal head is touched by the shaft 51. In the first place, an ink ribbon 1 wound around a reel 8' is set between the thermal head 2 and the paper 7, the ribbon 1 is rolled around a reel 8 by the motor 9, and the reels 8 and 8' and the motor 9 are attached to the upside of the supporting plate 10 through a rotary shaft 91. Each time lines are carried, the supporting plate 10 moves upwards, and when all of the width of the ribbon is used up, the motor 9 turns, the ribbon 1 is wound around the reel 8 and fresh ribbon is sent out by as much as the width of the paper.
