PURPOSE: To improve assembly efficiency and safety valve function, and make exchangeable with a cylindrical dry battery by dividing the inner part of a cap to a valve accommodating part and a terminal part by a separating plate in the inside of the cap in which the valve accommodating part accommodating an elastic valve body and the terminal part are installed to form an assembled sealing plate.
CONSTITUTION: A power generating element 9 is constituted by using a nickel electrode in a positive electrode and cadmium plate in a negative electrode, and winding in a shape of swirl with a nonwoven separator between them. A swirl-shaped electrode group which is impregnated with an electrolyte comprising potassium hydroxide solution is accommodated in a battery container 7. A assembled sealing plate 5 is fixed by cramping the outer circumference of a cap 3 comprising a terminal part 12 and a valve accommodating part 11 with the circumference of a sealing plate 2 in a state that in the inside of the cap 3 comprising the valve accommodating part 11 which accommodates an elastic valve body 4 and the terminal part 12 having smaller diameter than that of the valve accommodating part, a desk-shaped separating plate is inserted inside a boundary step between said accommodating part 11 and the terminal part 12, and by this separating plate 14, a valve hole 1 which is installed in the sealing plate 2 is always closed with the elastic valve body 4.
