PURPOSE: To protect the thermo-sensitive recording head by a simple additional circuit by controlling the travelling of recording paper and mounting a means stopping the operation of recording of the thermo-sensitive recording head by the information of the stoppage of the travelling of the recording paper when the travelling of the recording paper stops when data are recorded by means of the head.

CONSTITUTION: A record control circuit 1 outputs record command signals and motor exciting signals to a gate circuit 2 and a motor 4 for feeding the recording paper. The thermo-sensitive recording head 3 records data to the recording paper 8, which passes on a roller 6 from a recording paper roller 5 by the record command signals through the gate 2 and is forwarded by means of the motor 4 and a roller 7. Since the record command signals to the thermo-sensitive recording head 3 are gated by the motor exciting signals, the gate circuit 2 is not opened if the record command signals are emitted when the exciting signals to the motor 4 are not outputted, and the thermo-sensitive recording head 3 is not driven.
