Semention concerns spark ignition type reciprocating engine of a natural intake system with an ignition plug disposed to face a combustion chamber defined and delimited by a piston inserted into a cylinder so as to move in a reciprocating way, comprising: a means for reducing an effective compression ratio in a region where a load of an engine is lower; wherein a compression ratio of the engine is at least 11; and wherein a ratio of a stroke of the piston to a bore size is larger than 1.
