Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely secure the airtightness of the case of an optical waveguide device.

CONSTITUTION: A lid member 1 fixed on a case member 2 to form bushing 3, through holes 5, 6 for passing four optical fibers 4 pierced in the lid member 1 and the case member 2 at opposite positions, a through hole 9 for filling a thermosetting resin 8 into the space 7 between the case member 2 and a through hole 10 for venting air pierced in the lid. member 1 at opposite positions of the case member 2, are provided. The through hole 9 for filling the resin 8 is positioned at the bottom part and the through hole 10 for venting air is positioned at the top part, and the thermosetting resin 8 as a low viscosity adhesive is injected from the through hole 9 and cured by heating.
