Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the subject steel cord having improved rubber infiltration, preventing the separation phenomenon between the cord and the rubber and the lowering of the strength caused by corrosion, and prolonging the life of the rubber product. CONSTITUTION:The objective steel cord is characterized by twisting element wires having small spiral curl parts with straight element wires so that the element wires having the spiral curl parts are arranged in an element wire ratio of 1/4 to 2/3 at any cross section of the cord, the steel cord having an elongation of 0.10-0.40% on a load of 5kg and further having a cord outer diameter larger 1.01 to 1.50 times that of a cord produced by densely twisting only the straight element wires.
