Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency by building a cold source into a rotor and directly cooling a refrigerant by this cold source. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting rotor 1 is provided with a heat insulating rotary vessel 2, field winding 4 consisting of a superconducting wire, supply pipe 5 supplying refrigerant gas, refrigerant liquid 14a, refrigerant gas 14b of low temperature, refrigerant gas 14c of normal temperature, cold source 15, its heat absorbing part 16 and heat radiating part 17. Hydrogen is used as the refrigerant; when electric energy is given to the cold source 15, heat is absorbed in the heat absorbing part 16 and radiated in the heat radiating part 17, and a predetermined temperature is obtained by cooling the heat insulating rotary vessel 2, field winding 4 and the refrigerant gas 14c of normal temperature. When power of the cold source is controlled so as to steadily hold this condition, the superconducting rotor 1 with stable action is obtained. Thus eliminating the necessity for feeding the refrigerant transferring allows easy cooling because the cold source 15 is provided in the inside of the rotor 1.
