Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting rotary electric machine easy for cooling a rotor, by feeding a cooling medium to the rotor from a nozzle set on the periphery of the rotor. CONSTITUTION:A piping 40 for distributing liquid N2 from a header 29 to a nozzle 28 is embedded in the whole area of a heat insulating layer 27 confronted with a field coil 38 for example. A rotor 21 is cooled by feeding the liquid N2 to the rotor 21 from the nozzle 28 set on the periphery of the rotor 21, between the rotor 21 and a stator 25. The liquid N2 is sprayed on the surface section of the rotating rotor 21 through the nozzle 28 and is fed to, and the rotor 21 is directly cooled by the vaporizing latent heat of the liquid N2. The vaporized N2 is collected in a vapor reservoir 33, and is liquefied by a liquefying device 35, and is turned into the liquid N2, and is fed to a liquid receiver 31. The liquid N2 received in the liquid reservoir 31 is pressure-fed to the header 29 by a pump 32, and is sprayed on the surface section of the rotor 21 again. By this cooling means, the rotor 21 is cooled through the periphery almost at the same time, and so the rotor can be comparatively uniformly cooled.
