PURPOSE: To operate a video display system using a light valve device, a light source and an optical system without generating excessive heat or fan noise.

CONSTITUTION: This electronic image projection system is provided with the light source 1700, a light valve 1750 for image formation capable of expressing information as picture elements or lines provided with a dead space between the picture elements or the lines, a means 1780 for projecting images formed by the light bulb on an observation area 1790 and the means for practically eliminating a space perceived between the picture elements or the lines in projected images.
