Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a panel plate having a strain-free, uniformly spherical surface by welding one end of a panel piece to the outer peripheral edge of a platelike panel constituting a hemispherical top and the other end thereof to the opening part of a tank shell, each overlapped by the inner surfaces thereof. CONSTITUTION:Each panel piece 3 is shaped in such a way that, when assembled into a panel plate, it is equally divided about the circumference of the panel plate by the lines extending from its hemispherical top to the edge thereof with the panel piece end near the top thereof cut off. The panel piece is welded to a circular platelike panel 1 with the inner surface of the outer peripheral edge thereof overlapping this end 3A. The adjoining panel pieces 3 and butt welded together as shown in the figure 4. The platelike panel 1 and the panel piece 3 are performed into a predetermined curved surface by stamping. The hemispherical base thus formed is welded to a circular opening part of a tank shell 2 with its inner surface overlapping the other end 3B of each panel piece 3, whereby the panel plate is fixedly attached to the opening part thereof to hermetically seal the tank shell 2.
