Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable structure which is folded when it passes a narrow place so that various works at a narrow part are practicable, and moves with a high stroke when it enters the interior. SOLUTION: An expandable structure 30 for a work at a narrow part comprises two sets of down telescopic cylinders 40 arranged in parallel to each other; and two sets of up telescopic cylinders 60 arranged in parallel to each other. The down telescopic cylinder 40 comprises a central shaft 41; cylinders 42-46 arranged in a manner to surround the central shaft 41; and a flange 49 rotatably attached to the tip of the central shaft 41. The up telescopic cylinder 60 comprises a central shaft 61; and cylinders 63-67 to surround the central shaft 61. Two central shafts 61 are intercoupled at the ends on one side thereof through a flange 69 and the outermost cylinder 63 is coupled to the flange 49 through a ball bearing 47.
