Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a reinforced stent, namely an expandable intravascular graft piece by disposing a mesh layer of a plurality of fibers heat bonded with a biodegradable polymer and a layer of a film of the biodegradable polymer. CONSTITUTION: This biodegradable laminated fibrous mesh 10 is formed by weaving a plurality of fibers 12 of a first biodegradable high strength polymer and a plurality of fibers 14 of a second biodegradable polymer. Then, a composite mesh 10 is laminated by a plurality of biodegradable polymer films 28, 29. Therein the first biodegradable polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyglycolic acid, poly-L-lactic acid, polyorthoesters, etc., and the second biodegradable polymer is selected from the group consisting of polycaprolactone, poly-DL-lactic acid, and poly-L-lactic acid. Thereby a reinforced stent, namely an expandable intravascular graft piece can be obtained.
