Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a highly workable and inexpensive steel sheet excellent in appearance by infiltrating a heat-sublimable ink into the primer coating film having colored topcoat thereon provided on the surface of a steel sheet to form a pattern.

CONSTITUTION: This printed prepainted steel sheet has a primer coating film 3 on the surface of a steel sheet 2 and a colored topcoat 4 thereon, and a heat- sublimable ink 6 is infiltrated into the two layers to form a pattern 1. Consequently, the printing ink is not exposed on the coating film surface unlike a conventional patterned steel sheet, the pattern 1 is not dissipated even when rubbed, the entire film thickness is not increased, and the workability such as bendability equivalent to that of the original unprinted painted steel sheet is maintained.
