Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize the releasing characteristic of a brake and a clutch by acting attracting force which is produced between an exciting coil and a permanent magnet to the release of the coupling torque of the clutch or brake. CONSTITUTION:A disc-shaped armature 1 is engaged integrally with a drive shaft. Cylindrical yokes 2, 3 are radially concentrically coupled by a facing 4 and a permanent magnet 5. The armature 1 side is secured to a drive shaft, and the armature 1 is inactivated to the axial direction so that the yokes 2, 3 side are axially movable together with the magnet 5. A clutch is released before the magnetic flux phi2 which is generated by an exciting coil 7 becomes equal to the magnetic flux phi1 of the magnet 5 in the step of gradually decreasing the magnetic flux phi2 generated by the coil 7.
