The feeding length of recording paper P after the end mark M is detected and the length of preliminarily fixed preliminary space S are compared. The printing operation is continuously enabled till the feeding length exceeds the length of the preliminary space S, and when the both length coincide or the feeding length exceeds the length of the preliminary space S, the printing operation is prohibited, a recording paper out alarm is outputted and a facsimile equipment 21 is made to be in a standby state. Thus, an effective use of the total length of the recording paper P can be performed.
