PURPOSE: To prevent transferring position of an image from being shifted, by a method wherein a mechanism for reducing slip between a recording paper and an ink doner film (IDF) is provided, and a feeding quantity of a recording paper is maintained at a reference value by controlling pulses given to motors for driving back-up rollers.
CONSTITUTION: At each of recording parts 10, 20, 30, the IDF and the recording paper P are laminated on each other, the laminate is fed by pressing it against a thermal head 31... by the back-up roller 41..., and the slip generated between the paper P and the IDF is reduced by a take-up roller 71... provided with a slipping clutch. The feeding quantity of the paper P is calculated from the feeding quantity of the paper P is calculated from the feeding quantity of the IDF detected by detecting rollers 81..., it is compared with a reference value, and when the feeding quantity is increased or decreased by an amount equivalent to 1/n times of the reference value, driving pulses given to stepping motors for driving the rollers 41... are controlled to maintain the feeding quantity of the paper P at the reference value. Accordingly, a favorable recorded image free from any shift in transferring positions at each of the recording parts can be obtained.
