Date Mar. 21, 1991.The invention concerns an adjustable tool for use in machine tools, with a slide (14) which can be fitted with at least one cutting tool and which can be displaced relative to the rotating main body (10) perpendicularly to the axis of rotation. The invention also calls for a device (20) for the direct measurement of the displacement of the slide (14), the slide being fitted with an electronically read measurement scale (24). This device comprises battery-powered data-processing electronics (20) and is located inside the main body (10). The displacement reading can be presented on a digital display (26) which is also mounted in the tool head.
