PURPOSE: To simply correct the excavating direction of an operating rod for excavation works by inserting a head swinging rod through the hollow provided in the operating rod, and by coupling the bottom of the head swinging rod with the top of an excavation head supporting rod through a front swing operation mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: A motor 37 is started to rotate a screw auger 9, and an excavation head 10 sinks in rotating, and excavation of a pit is started into the ground. When a bending angle sensor 52 mounted in the auger 9 senses a bend of the excavating direction with auger exceeding the allowable range, first the auger 9 is rotated reversely to the position before the bend was generated, and rotation is stopped by lifting a frame. Then a head swinging rod 25 is sunk by elongating a hydraulic cylinder for elevation and sinking 41, and an excavation head 10 is inclined a certain angle, and in this condition, the head swinging rod 25 is rotated by starting a motor 46 so that excavation is resumed while the inclination of the excavation head 10 is directed to the bend correction direction. The excavation head 10 is returned onto the axis by operating the cylinder 41, and excavation is continued.
