PURPOSE: To provide a dust protecting cover and an XY robot which can cope with a long stroke.

CONSTITUTION: A dust cover 7A is composed of a pair of rectangular bellows 10A, 10B which are fixed to opposite sides of a connecting member 2 so that they are arranged on a straight line, and cylindrical bellows 11 are fixed to the connecting member 2, perpendicular to the pair of rectangular bellows 10A, 10B. The dust cover 7A is attached to a dust protecting box in which an XY robot body 2 is located, so as to cover an opening 4 of the box 3 therewith, and accordingly, an XY robot 1A using the dust cover 7A is completed. With this arrangement, it is possible to cope with a large stroke in two directions, and accordingly, the working area of the XY robot 1A using the dust cover 7A can be enlarged.
