Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make possible a control in increasing the quantity of delay angle as loading is increased by controlling a suction timing delay means delaying the timing of suction start for an engine in such a way that a delay angle is increased as supercharging pressure is increased. CONSTITUTION:A suction manifold 7 conmunicated with each cylinder 20A through 20D of a four cylinder engine is composed of four independent passages 14 branched to each cylinder, a collecting passage 13 in a right cylindrical form collecting said passages 14, and a main passage 15 connected with the upstream thereof. And a turbo supercharger 60 is provided in the upstream side of said main passage 15. In this case, a rotary valve 10 as a suction timing delay means which is synchronously rotated by a crank shaft 26, is provided in the collecting passage 13. Said rotary valve 10 is controlled by a rotary valve control device 34 as a delay angle control means in such a way that an delay angle in the timing of suction start is increased as supercharging pressure is increased in the operating range of engine supercharging.
