PURPOSE: To provide a battery having high performance and productivity by using a positive active mass prepared by granulating silver peroxide having specified weight percent and silver oxide.
CONSTITUTION: Silver peroxide and silver oxide are granulated to desired particle size with a granulator, then both oxides are mixed and molded to a pellet and placed in a positive can 1 and again pressed to form a positive active mass. To achieve voltage control, desired particle size of silver peroxide granule a depends on the height h of the filled active mass. If height h is 0.5∼2.0mm, desired particle size is 0.1∼1mm. When particle size of granule is 1/10 or less compared with that of silver peroxide, permitted limit becomes 70wt%. This value is close to the permitted limit, which is 85wt% of a battery constructed by using conventional silver oxide powder.
