Abstract:
PURPOSE:To uniformly shrink nonwoven fabric with reduced variability of thickness weight and qualities resulting from unevenness of contraction in the width direction in feeding wide nonwoven fabric into heating medium and shrinking. CONSTITUTION:Warm water at 70 deg.C is used as a heating medium, nonwoven fabric (51% area shrinkage percentage in warm water at 70 deg.C) comprising polyester having 1.9 denier average single yarn fineness, having 180cm width is treated under conditions of H(vertical distance from heating medium)=200cm, theta(feed angler)=90 decrees, V1 (peripheral speed of feed roll 2)=5m/minute and V2 (peripheral speed of take-off roll 7)=3.8m/minute to give a shrunk nonwoven fabric material having 112cm width (Wc) after shrinkage and small difference (2%) of shrinkage percentage in the width direction between both selvedge parts and central part.
