Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an artificial graphitic roll with superior wear resistance by providing a specified Shore hardness to an arbitrary part of a sleeve forming the surface part of a roll.
CONSTITUTION: An artificial graphitic roll having 45W75 Shore hardness at an arbitrary part of the sleeve forming the surface part of the roll is prepared. The specific gravity of the sleeve is adjusted to 2.10W1.90 by a butanol impregnating method. Thus, the extent of wear of the roll is reduced by about 20%, and a high quality silicon steel plate can be manufactured.
