PURPOSE: To effectively obtain a water-thinnable two-component coating preparation by emulsifying an org. polyisocyanate in an aq. soln. or dispersion of a polyurethane resin prepared by a specified process.
CONSTITUTION: The following (a) and (b) components are compounded, that is, (a) Org polyisocyanate and (b) Polyurethane resin prepared by (1) reacting polyisocyanates A with polyols B having an average molecular weight Mn of at least 40, as the case may be, with polyols C of a low molecular weight and compds. D having at least two groups which are reactive toward isocyanates groups and at least one group which is capable of anion formation to form a prepolymer contg. free NCO groups, and (2) reacting the prepolymer prepared in the step (1) with low molecular weight polyols E carrying no further groups which are reactive toward isocyanate groups and the compds. F which are monofunctional or contain active hydrogen of differing reactivity, and are different from E.
