Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a safety device for vehicle which can previously prevent the erroneous start of a vehicle due to the creep phenomenon or the brake power shortage of a hand brake on a slope. CONSTITUTION:A safety device for vehicle is equipped with an article detecting means 1 for detecting the existence of an article on a driver's seat of a vehicle, speed detecting means 2 for detecting the speed V of the vehicle, speed change position detecting means 3 for detecting the speed change position G of the vehicle, and a control means 4A for controlling a brake means 5 and a speed change means 6 on the basis of each detection signal supplied from the article detecting means, speed detecting means, and the speed change position detecting means. The control means includes a driver discriminating means 41A for discriminating the presence of a driver on the driver's seat on the basis of the detection signal P supplied from the article detecting means, and when the vehicle speed is slower than a specific speed, and the speed change position is at the position other than the parking position, and the state where the driver is not present continues for over a specific time, a brake means is driven, and after the stop of the vehicle is confirmed, the speed change means is driven to carry out speed change to the parking position.
