Abstract:
PURPOSE:To hold the quality of voice without changing the size of an application code chart by combining an index with a precise cyclic interval and an index with a rough cyclic interval. CONSTITUTION:In an index assignment control section 20, an index with a precise pitch cyclic interval and an index with a rough pitch cyclic interval, determined in accordance with the index frequency specified by an error power evaluation section 13 for a coded word creating section 16, are combined together to applicably change the assignment of the index and the pitch cycle without increasing the code chart size of an application code chart 11. By applicably controlling the correspondance of the index to the pitch cycle, an analysis resolution improving technique can be implemented without expanding the code chart size resulting in increasing transfer capacity and operating amount, so that the property can be improved as the transfer capacity remain unchanged while restraining the operating amount from increasing and the quantizing efficiency can be improved.
