Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a radical polymerization initiator enabling radical polymerization to be initiated at higher temperatures compared to conventional initiators.

CONSTITUTION: The objective radical polymerization initiator is characterized by consisting of a product obtained by ozonizing an unsaturated fatty acid alkyl ester of formula R1C=CR2COOR3 (R1 is 8C alkyl or haloalkyl; R2 is 7C alkyl or haloalkyl; R3 is 1-22C alkyl or haloalkyl) or its mixture with a saturated fatty acid alkyl ester of formula R4COOR5 (R4 and R5 are each 1-22C alkyl or haloalkyl).
