Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a miniature zinc-air cell having no mercury in a zinc contained electrode by providing an indium layer, a lower copper layer on an inner surface of a positive electrode cup contacting a zinc electrode. CONSTITUTION: This air cell comprises a negative electrode cup 2 contacting a negative electrode containing manganese dioxide, a positive electrode cup 22 contacting with the positive electrode of zinc electrode at its inner surface. The cup 22 is formed of a steel of a conductive base which includes a nickel layer on one surface and a silver layer on an inner surface on the other, the nickel layer is used as a battery terminal, a foundation copper layer 33 is provided on the silver layer and an indium layer 34 is provided thereon. With the layer 34, it is unnecessary to have mercury which controls a reaction between zinc and alkali, and thereby a miniature zinc-air cell without any mercury in the zinc contained electrode is formed.
