PURPOSE: To fetch only the necessary data and not to treat the unnecessary data when the data on an ATM (asynchronous time division multiple) system which are transmitted on the buses are fetched.
CONSTITUTION: The header including a VPI (virtual connection route identifier) is added to the data DT which are transmitted on the buses 14, 24 and 30. Thus, a cell is formed. Then, an address module number (MLN) is assigned as the VPI of the cell transferred between the modules 10 and 20, and the address port numbers (PTN) added to the address port parts 12, 13, 22 and 23 are assigned to the cells incoming to both modules 10 and 20. An inter-bus connection control part 21 which receives the cells and the port parts 22 and 23 fetch only the cells that has the identifiers VPI of the numbers set to the parts 21-23 themselves. In such a way, only the cells having the identifiers VPI of the numbers set to those cells themselves are fetched. Therefore, the parts 21-23 can be simplified and the high speed processing is attained.
