Abstract:
PURPOSE:To widen the range of aerating effect by the action of the water stream discharged from a nozzle to a place of receiving waterfall and suppress the formation of a waterfall basin by a method wherein a nozzle is provided to discharge water in the horizontal direction at the place of receiving the waterfall and the source of water supply to this nozzle is used as a source of waterfall supply or waterfall storing part. CONSTITUTION:Water is sent from its supply source into a water reservoir 2 and, when the water 1 is allowed to overflow and fall therefrom, the water is caught into the resulting waterfall to form air bubbles at a place 3 of receiving the waterfall. Due to water head, the water is sent from the water reservoir through a second line 5b to a nozzle 4 and, from there, the water is discharged in the horizontal direction to produce water streams, so that fine air bubbles are spread out over a wide range and stay in the air. Therefore, the residence time of the air bubbles is made longer to improve the aerating function. Also, by the water stream discharged in the horizontal direction from the nozzle 4, the impact of the water against the place of receiving the waterfall is diminished to make the formation of a waterfall basin difficult. Moreover, a baffle plate 8 is provided at a waterfall storing part 6 to swirl the water flow from the nozzle 4 and this water swirl makes the residence time of the air bubbles even longer, resulting in further improvement of the aerating effect.
