PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of black spots as enamel defects during application of enamel by reducing the contents of C and S in an Al killed cold rolled steel plate for enamel and to add a small amt. of Cu.
CONSTITUTION: An Al killed rolled steel plate of the following compsn. is used as a steel plate for enamel: The compsn.contg. ≤0.01% C, ≤0.50% Mn, ≤ 0.015% S, ≤ 0.0100% N, 0.005W0.10% sol.Al, 0.02W0.15% Ti, and 0.010W0.050% Cu, and having the relations Ti%/(4C%+3.5N%+1.5S%)≥0.6. such ingot is hot rolled to a steel plate which is then pickled to be removed of surface scale, then it is cold rolled. This cold rolled steel plate is annealed at its recrystallization temp. or above by box annealing or continuous annealing and finally it is skin pass rolled. The steel plate for enamel free from generation of black spots which are enamel defects is obtained.
