Abstract:
Wire electrical discharge machine in portal construction, consisting of a machine bed having two side columns and a portal bridge, a worktable frame, a top cantilever above the same having a wire-deflection guide, a bottom cantilever below the same having a wire-deflection guide, guide carriages and slides, provided with controllable feed drives, for the relative displacement of the cantilevers in the x, y and z axes relative to the worktable frame, as well as having a one-piece or multipiece portal column forming a first subassembly unit, a one-piece or multipiece, interchangeable portal bridge which forms a second construction unit, can be placed upon the portal column and can be rigidly connected to the latter, one interchangeable guide carriage each, which is displaceable in the x axis in guides, above and below the portal bridge and forms a third and a fourth independent subassembly, and guide slides which are arranged on the guide carriages of the third and fourth subassembly, are displaceable in the y axes and are designed as independent, interchangeable units, and top and bottom cantilevers which are connected to these guide slides and are provided with wire-guide and wire-deflection members. ……
